Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 July 2026

Roam is built to help you explore the outdoors, not to harvest your data. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. Here is exactly what the app does with data.

Location

With your permission, Roam uses your device location to find and recommend routes near you and to guide you while you navigate. To build routes and maps, the coordinates for the area you are planning in are sent to the mapping and weather services listed below. Roam does not use your location for advertising and does not sell it.

Your account

Roam creates an anonymous account for you automatically. There is no name, email, or password. It is an anonymous identifier (provided by our backend, Supabase) used to keep your data yours: your completed routes, your personal best times, any routes you publish to the community, and any hazards you report. Routes and conditions you explicitly publish to the community are visible to other Roam users; everything else is private to your account.

What we do not collect

Services Roam relies on

Purchases

If Roam Pro becomes available, it is a one-time in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.

Keeping and deleting your data

Your on-device data, such as saved routes and settings, stays on your device and is removed if you delete the app. To delete the data tied to your anonymous account on our servers, email support@getroam.world and we will remove it.

Children

Roam is rated 4+ but is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
